Donna Moore Clifton of Panama Beach, Florida wrote the following:
I'm searching for my roots! My father was "Carl Rogan Moore" born in Oakdale in 1910. He was the son of Millard Vance & Minnie Wilson Moore. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the other family members of Millard Vance Moore, (or his brother Henry, who from my understanding, continued to stay on there.)
She also wants to know if anyone has any photos from 1900-1920.

Ted Moore wrote: I remember Millard Moore, he was a brother to my Grandmother, Jane Moore aka "Aunt Jane" to the locals. I met Millard when I was about 10 or 11 years old. As I remember he was not married at that time and appeared to be in his middle 60's. Some of his day during his visit was spent in the local beer joint at the top of the hill known as "Turtles". I think he had a son, name skips me, but I do remember he was in the Merchant Marines and always drove a new cadilac with large air horns. As a small kid I was impressed to say the least. I am not sure this was Millard's son.
I have no rememory of a Henry Moore. My Grandmother's sister was married to a person named with a last name of "Rew". Their son Roy was a well know magician and lived in Plymount Michigan. He had two sons.

Dale Ray asked the following:
I went to grammar school in Oakdale and always wondered what happened to the Milhorn family, Sonny Hickman and his sisters, the maitens (spelling) and a host of others that would have been in first grade in around 1957 approximately. Seems most of the names slip by me but I still remember the faces and the old school. Went back recently and the school was gone. The old bridge was gone, the post office and the store under the rock were all gone, railroad for the most part was gone. It sure crushed a lot of great memories about a special place.
